Local Rank Grid

Google Maps rankings from a grid of GPS points around a location, with Average Rank Position and Share of Local Voice.

Local Rank Grid (Geo-Grid)
300 credits per call

See where a business ranks in Google Maps from every point on a grid around it.

Runs a Google Maps search for your keyword from each point of a 3x3, 5x5 or 7x7 grid centred on a location, and finds the target business at every point. Returns a rank map, Average Rank Position (ARP) and Share of Local Voice (the percentage of grid points where the business shows in the top results). Credits scale with grid size: the figure shown is a 5x5 grid.

Use cases

  • •Show a local client exactly which neighbourhoods they rank in and which they don't
  • •Measure the effect of Google Business Profile changes by re-running the same grid monthly
  • •Find the gap areas to target with service-area pages or local posts
  • •Compare your map-pack reach against a named competitor

Example prompts

“Run a 5x5 grid for "emergency plumber" around downtown Denver and show where Acme Plumbing ranks”

“What is our Share of Local Voice for "HVAC repair" within 3 miles of our office?”

“Compare this month's grid for "roof repair" with last month's and tell me which areas improved”

Tips

  • Use 0.5-mile spacing in dense cities and 1-2 miles in suburbs or rural areas
  • Start with a 3x3 grid to check the business is found at all, then run 5x5 or 7x7
  • Keep the keyword, centre point and spacing identical between runs so results are comparable
